Privacy Policy

Short version: Mercavo POS does not collect, send or store any of your store data on Mercavo servers, because there are none. Your products, sales and store information stay on your device, and there is no account system. On iPhone, iPad and Android, the free version shows ads from Google AdMob, which collects some device and usage data (section 5). The Windows edition has no ads and never goes online.

1. Who We Are

Mercavo POS is a point-of-sale application for Android, iOS and Windows, designed for small businesses to ring up sales, manage inventory, and download order bills. The database lives entirely on your device.

2. What Mercavo Itself Does Not Do

Mercavo POS does not:

  • Require you to create an account or sign in.
  • Send your products, sales or store information to Mercavo servers. There are none.
  • Sync your store data to any cloud (backups are user-initiated and saved to where you choose).
  • Include its own analytics, crash reporting, or tracking code.
  • Sell your data, or share your store data with anyone.

The third-party services in section 5 (ads on the free mobile version, in-app purchases and Android's barcode scanner) handle some data under their own privacy policies, as described there.

3. Data Stored Locally on Your Device

Mercavo POS stores the following data in a local SQLite database on your device:

  • Store settings: store name, currency, theme, payment methods, quick amounts, order bill customisation.
  • Catalog: products and services with names, prices, costs, barcodes, stock counts, categories, images.
  • Sales records: line items, totals, payment method, change, timestamps for every completed sale.
  • Inventory logs: stock added by you and stock taken off by sales.
  • App metadata: purchase state, schema version, and a random identifier created on install and stamped on each sale. It is not tied to your device's hardware or your identity, and it never leaves the device.

Mercavo POS keeps no customer records. This data never leaves your device unless you initiate a Backup Export, in which case you choose where the backup file goes. You can clear all app data at any time through your device's app settings or by uninstalling.

4. Network Use

On iPhone, iPad and Android, Mercavo POS works fully offline once you've removed ads. The times the app touches the network are:

  • Remove Ads purchase and restore: handled by Google Play (Android) or Apple App Store (iOS). We never see or store your payment information.
  • Ads (before you remove ads): Google AdMob serves a full-screen ad when you return to the app, which requires an internet connection; without a connection the app shows a "no internet" screen until ads are removed. Removing ads disables ads permanently and lifts this requirement, so the app runs fully offline from then on.
  • Barcode scanner diagnostics (Android): Google ML Kit sends diagnostic information to Google (section 5).

The Windows edition is bought once from the Microsoft Store. It has no ads, no in-app purchase and no network access at all.

5. Third-Party Services

Mercavo POS integrates with the following third-party services, each operating under their own privacy policies:

Google Play Billing / Apple StoreKit / Microsoft Store (purchases)

The Remove Ads one-time purchase (iPhone, iPad, Android) and the Windows edition itself are processed entirely by Google Play, the App Store or the Microsoft Store. Mercavo does not process, store, or have access to your payment details.

Google AdMob (advertising in the free version on iPhone, iPad and Android, until you remove ads)

Until you purchase Remove Ads, the app displays full-screen ads served by Google AdMob when you return to it. To serve and measure ads and to prevent fraud, AdMob collects data such as your device's advertising identifier, your approximate location from your IP address, ad interactions, and app performance information, and may use it to show personalised ads under Google's Privacy Policy. On iPhone and iPad the app asks for tracking permission first; if you decline, the advertising identifier is not shared with AdMob. You can reset or delete your advertising identifier in your device's settings. Purchasing Remove Ads removes all ads permanently, and no ad requests are made after that.

Google ML Kit (Android) and Apple Vision (iOS) (barcode scanning)

Barcode detection runs entirely on-device: no camera frames or scan results are sent to any server. On Android, Google's ML Kit sends diagnostic information to Google, such as device and app details, a per-installation identifier, performance measurements and error codes, to maintain and improve the scanner. Apple Vision (iOS) and the Windows scanner send nothing.

6. Permissions

Mercavo POS requests the following device permissions:

  • Camera: to scan product barcodes. Used only when you open the scanner.
  • Photos (iPhone and iPad): to pick a product image. On Android the system photo picker is used, which needs no permission.
  • Tracking (iPhone and iPad): the system prompt that lets AdMob use the advertising identifier. Optional.
  • Internet (iPhone, iPad and Android): to validate the Remove Ads purchase and serve ads (until removed).

Backup files are saved and opened through the system share sheet and file picker, which need no permission. You can revoke any permission at any time through your device's system settings. The core POS flow (sell, scan, manage products, view reports) works without internet once you've removed ads, and always on Windows.

7. This Website

mercavo.juanlobby.com has no accounts, no analytics and no advertising. It loads its fonts (Poppins and Manrope) from Google Fonts, so your browser sends your IP address to Google when you visit; see Google's Privacy Policy. Your light or dark theme choice is remembered in your browser's local storage and never sent to us.

8. Children's Privacy

Mercavo POS is a business tool not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. If you believe a child has used the app and provided personal data through Mercavo, please contact us at mercavo.support@juanlobby.com.

9. Data Retention and Your Choices

All store data is stored only on your device. Mercavo has no ability to access, export or delete it on your behalf, because we never receive it. You can export it yourself at any time from Backup & restore in Settings, and you can delete it by clearing the app's storage in your device settings or uninstalling the app. Backup files you create are stored wherever you saved them and are your responsibility to delete.

For data handled by Google, Apple or Microsoft (ads, purchases, diagnostics), use their privacy controls, for example by resetting your advertising identifier or declining tracking. If you have a question or a request about your data, contact us and we will help where we can.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page and change the "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use after a change indicates acceptance.
