Privacy Policy

Short version: Mercavo POS does not collect, transmit, or store any of your store data on Mercavo servers. Your products, sales, customers, and store information all stay on your device. There is no account system.

1. Who We Are

Mercavo POS is a mobile point-of-sale application for Android and iOS, designed for small businesses to ring up sales, manage inventory, and download order bills. The database lives entirely on your device.

2. Data We Do Not Collect

Mercavo POS does not:

  • Require you to create an account or sign in.
  • Transmit your sales, inventory, or customer data to Mercavo servers.
  • Sync your store data to any cloud (backups are user-initiated and saved to where you choose).
  • Track your in-app behavior, usage patterns, or product preferences.
  • Sell or share your data with third parties for advertising, analytics, or any other purpose.

3. Data Stored Locally on Your Device

Mercavo POS stores the following data in a local SQLite database on your device:

  • Store settings — store name, currency, theme, payment methods, order bill customisation.
  • Catalog — products and services with names, prices, costs, barcodes, stock counts, categories, images.
  • Sales records — line items, totals, payment method, change, timestamps for every completed sale.
  • Inventory logs — stock movements derived from sales and manual adjustments.
  • App metadata — purchase/entitlement state, device ID, schema version.

This data never leaves your device unless you initiate a Backup Export, in which case you choose where the backup file goes. You can clear all app data at any time through your device's app settings or by uninstalling.

4. Network Use

Mercavo POS works fully offline once you've removed ads. The times the app touches the network are:

  • Remove Ads purchase & restore — handled by Google Play (Android) or Apple App Store (iOS). We never see or store your payment information.
  • Banner ads (before you remove ads) — Google AdMob serves anonymous banner ads, which requires an internet connection; without a connection the app shows a "no internet" screen until ads are removed. Removing ads disables ads permanently and lifts this requirement, so the app runs fully offline from then on.
  • Anonymous crash reports — Firebase Crashlytics may send stack traces if the app crashes. No PII, no store data, no sales information is ever included.

5. Third-Party Services

Mercavo POS integrates with the following third-party services, each operating under their own privacy policies:

Google Play Billing / Apple StoreKit (in-app purchases)

The Remove Ads one-time purchase is processed entirely by Google Play (Android) or the App Store (iOS). Mercavo does not process, store, or have access to your payment details.

Google AdMob (advertising · until you remove ads)

Until you purchase Remove Ads, the app displays banner ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data to serve personalised ads under Google's Privacy Policy. Purchasing Remove Ads removes all ads permanently.

Firebase Crashlytics (crash diagnostics)

When the app crashes, an anonymous stack trace is sent to Firebase Crashlytics so we can fix the bug. No store data, sales information, customer names, or product details are ever included.

Google ML Kit (Android) · Apple Vision (iOS) (barcode scanning)

Barcode detection runs entirely on-device. No camera frames or scan results are sent to any server.

6. Permissions

Mercavo POS requests the following device permissions:

  • Camera — to scan product barcodes. Used only when you tap the scan icon.
  • Photo Library / Storage — to save product images you upload and to save backup files.
  • Internet — to validate the Remove Ads purchase, serve ads (until removed), and send anonymous crash reports.

You can revoke any permission at any time through your device's system settings. The core POS flow (sell, scan, manage products, view reports) works without internet once you've removed ads.

7. Children's Privacy

Mercavo POS is a business tool not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. If you believe a child has used the app and provided personal data through Mercavo, please contact us at mercavo.support@juanlobby.com.

8. Data Retention

All store data is stored only on your device. Mercavo has no ability to delete it on your behalf as we do not have access to it. To delete your data, clear the app's storage in your device settings or uninstall the app. Backup zips you create are stored wherever you saved them and are your responsibility to delete.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Where required by law, we will notify you within the app. Continued use after a change indicates acceptance.
