01 — Getting Started

First launch

The first time you open Mercavo POS, it automatically seeds a default store name ("Mercavo Store") and currency (USD) and drops you straight onto the Checkout screen — no account, no email, nothing to fill in first.

Update your store name and currency anytime from Settings → Store.

02 — Set Up Your Catalog

Categories first, then items

Categories live in Settings → Categories. Create them first (Drinks, Snacks, Services — whatever fits your store), then add your items.

Categories & Payment Methods

Unlimited categories, free or paid. Cash is always there — add any other method you take.

Add Product

The Type toggle picks Product or Service.

When adding an item, the Type toggle at the top picks Product (with stock + barcode) or Service (no stock — for haircuts, repairs, loads, printouts). Services share the same catalog and reports as products.

03 — Remove Ads

One purchase, every device

Remove Ads is a one-time, non-consumable purchase via Google Play (Android) or the App Store (iOS). Tied to your store account on those platforms.

• Purchase: Settings → tap the upgrade card → confirm the purchase via Play / App Store
• Restore on a new device: Settings → Restore Purchase
• Refund: handled by Google Play or Apple (Mercavo doesn't process payments)
• Once active, ads disappear and the app runs fully offline instantly — every other feature was already unlocked

04 — Order Bill

Every sale gets a downloadable order bill

Mercavo POS doesn't pair with printers or any hardware. Every completed sale has an on-screen order bill you can download straight to your device.

05 — Backup & Restore

Your data, your control

Settings → Backup & Restore → Export Backup saves a file containing:

• Your SQLite database (all products, sales, categories, settings)
• All product images
• Metadata (app version, schema version, store name, currency, source platform)

On Android that's a .zip; on iOS a .mercavobackup file. Save it to Google Drive, iCloud, Dropbox, email, USB — wherever. To restore: Settings → Restore from File → pick the backup.

06 — Order Bills, Not Tax Receipts

Important: not a fiscal device

That said, removing ads gives you Custom Bill Lines — add header lines (tax ID, business registration, VAT line, or anything else your jurisdiction requires) and footer lines (thank-you, social handles, return policy, etc.). Mercavo POS renders them exactly as entered. You take responsibility for whether the content satisfies local requirements.
